The Balm Co. started with me — pregnant, overwhelmed, and dealing with skin that suddenly felt completely different. I experienced dry patches, breakouts, and sensitivity, and couldn’t find anything that helped without making it worse. I began creating my own Face Balm using simple, organic ingredients I could trust, and it completely changed my routine.
As a first-time mum, I just didn’t have the time or energy for multi-step skincare anymore — and with this balm, I didn’t need to. It contains:
• Argan oil for elasticity and softening
• Jojoba oil for balancing and calming sensitive skin
• Castor oil for its antimicrobial and healing support
• Cocoa butter for its rich, protective properties
• Roman chamomile essential oil to calm and comfort
• Shea butter for deep, nourishing hydration
I’d used these ingredients separately before, but layering them was time-consuming and not as effective. Combining them into a single balm simplified everything — while still delivering results I could see and feel.
After creating the Face Balm, I realised the same ingredients — in gentler variations — could be used for my baby’s skin too. That’s when I formulated our All Over Balm, and later our Calming Balm. I wanted to avoid the chemical-heavy baby products I found on shelves, and this felt like the safest, kindest choice.
Since birth, my baby has thankfully never experienced nappy rash. Any red marks that have appeared in his rolls or sensitive areas have disappeared within days thanks to the All Over Balm or Calming Balm. It’s been so reassuring as a mum to have a natural solution that really works.
When I started sharing samples with other mums I met at baby groups, the feedback was incredible. They’d ask what I used, try it, and come back asking to buy more — and that’s how The Balm Co. was born.
