Single Leg Toe Tap Exercise

1. Set up your starting position – legs at table top position (90degrees angle above the hips. Ball (or cushion/towel) between left hand and left knee. Right arm extended to ceiling.
2. Press the ball with both hand and knee – and maintain tension throughout the exercise. This will get the deep core muscles firing!
3. Extend the right leg to the floor (maintain the 90degree angle) and extend the right arm towards the floor behind your head. Don’t rush 😉
4. Recover to start position. 10-15x
5. Repeat other side.

* Tip – think about maintaining the placement of the torso and keep pulling your belly button towards your spine. No arching of the back!

Sarah Hardy

From a young age, Sarah Hardy has been immersed in the world of dance, particularly classical ballet. She lives and breathes ballet, though perhaps not in the way most people might expect. While the magic of watching ballet and the thrill of performing have always captivated her, Sarah’s true passion lies in teaching. After her very first ballet lesson, she told her mother she wanted to become a ballet teacher—and that dream never wavered.

What Sarah loves most about teaching ballet is the problem-solving aspect it entails. Observing closely and training herself to look beyond the obvious, she focuses on identifying what’s not working and how to address it. Most often, this comes down to muscles and biomechanics. Over the years, Sarah has developed exercises designed to help dancers “feel” and “activate” the right muscles to enhance their movement. For her, muscles simply make sense.

Sarah has worked with dancers of all levels, from amateur to professional, and finds immense satisfaction in their progress. Whether it’s the joy on a dancer’s face when they finally understand a technique or the pride they feel seeing visible improvements in the mirror, those moments fuel her dedication to teaching.
