PLEB asked the Founder of Herbs to say a few words about his carefully tailored clothing line that features timeless embroidery, lovingly made in the UK.

Embroidered Sustainable clothing produced in the UK: The House Of Herbs
Words by Eddie Herbert, Founder of Herbs

I started this brand to combine simple, clean designs with detailed embroidery, creating clothing that’s meant to last. By focusing on small-batch, handcrafted production in London, I aim to offer quality pieces that feel unique and are built to be a lasting part of your wardrobe.

Herbs is a newly launched clothing line that embodies the essence of sustainable fashion through handcrafted designs created in a small factory in London. Our collection includes shirts, jackets, caps, and boxers, all crafted in small batches to ensure ethical and local production.

Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Highclere Castle Estate, where our my family home is located, our Work Jackets feature an intricately embroidered Cedar of Lebanon. This blend of simple design and detailed embroidery reflects our commitment to timeless fashion that honors both creativity and sustainability. (i.e stays relevant).

Sustainability Focus

At Herbs, sustainability is woven into every piece. By producing locally in London, we minimise our carbon footprint and support the local economy. Each garment is made with care, focusing on quality over quantity, ensuring that our fashion choices are as gentle on the planet as they are stylish.

Sustainability and Durability: Tailored Clothing Made to Last

Words by Hayley Bliss

In contrast to the fleeting nature of fast fashion, tailored clothing offers a sustainable and enduring alternative. Every piece is designed with longevity in mind, from the choice of fabric to the construction techniques used. Increasingly, brands such as Herbs, are selecting sustainable, high-quality materials like organic wool, linen, and cotton, which not only minimise environmental impact but also enhance the garment’s durability.

By investing in carefully tailored clothing made from sustainable materials, one embraces a timeless style while also supporting a more ethical and environmentally conscious approach to fashion.

Embroidery & Symbolism on Herbs Garments

Words by Hayley Bliss

One of the most expressive aspects of tailored clothing is the option for personalized embroidery. Once used to signify status or affiliation, embroidery today adds a layer of artistry and uniqueness to garments. From a subtle monogram to intricate patterns on a jacket’s lining, embroidery enhances the sophistication of a custom piece.

Herbs use the Cedar of Lebanon symbol as an embroidered motif on their clothing. The Cedar of Lebanon is a timeless symbol of immortality, resilience, and divine strength. Revered since antiquity, its broad branches and deep roots evoke a sense of protection and sacredness. In many traditions, it is seen as a bridge between heaven and earth, representing spiritual elevation and eternal life. Its wood, once used in ancient temples and palaces, reflects its enduring nature, of majesty, faith, and the enduring spirit of humanity.
