Blue Nude Unveils Raha: A Winter Capsule Collection Steeped in Moroccan Warmth

Blue Nude introduces Raha, a winter capsule collection inspired by the comfort, craftsmanship, and culture of Morocco.
One of PLEB’s favourite designers, Blue Nude, introduces its newest sustainable fashion collection, Raha, a winter capsule collection inspired by the comfort, craftsmanship, and culture of Morocco. This collection takes an unconventional approach to the autumn/winter wardrobe by exploring how cosiness can be expressed in a warm climate. It is a fresh perspective that challenges traditional seasonal design, merging a global sensibility with Blue Nude’s signature Made in London ethos.

Creative Director Katarina Protsack found inspiration during her travels in Morocco, where she observed the unique ways intimacy and comfort manifest in architecture and traditional craft. Moments of serenity embedded in Moroccan life, are woven throughout the collection, which celebrates the beauty of slowing down to appreciate everyday peace. The collection’s name, Raha, loosely translates to “everyday peace” in Arabic, capturing this essence. It reflects the brand’s dedication to fostering a calm and serene lifestyle, particularly for those navigating the hustle of urban environments.

A Fusion of Sustainability and Artistic Collaboration

At the heart of Raha is Blue Nude’s ongoing commitment to environmentally responsible design. This season, the brand partnered with London-based visual and textile artist Chisara Vidale to create a series of striking, limited-edition accessories, that will be available for sale in December 2024. The collaboration will bring to life a unique collection of upcycled vintage handbags reimagined as modern leather-and-wool “comfort creatures.” These one-of-a-kind pieces, inspired by the intricate Berber wool artistry of the Atlas Mountains, serve as a testament to the brand’s dedication to sustainability and circular fashion.

Morocco inspired me with its incredible cultural and artistic depth. Going to mainland Africa for the first time, I didn’t expect to discover these alternate modes of expressing coziness in a warm environment. It demonstrates the power of material, craft, and design to influence a person’s sensory response to their surroundings.

Inspired by Morocco, Made in London

The Raha collection is a love letter to the cultural richness of Morocco, drawing on elements that evoke a sense of warmth and intimacy. The inspirations are as varied as they are poetic:
• The secluded courtyards of Marrakech’s riads, which offer spaces for quiet retreat and reflection.
• The soft, enveloping warmth of evening fires in the coastal town of Essaouira, blending community and comfort.
• Traditional Moroccan textiles, whose patterns and textures inspire the collection’s draped and layered silhouettes.
• The architectural interplay of enclosure and openness, creating spaces that feel both intimate and expansive.

The intricate patterns and craftsmanship merge Moroccan tradition with wearable, stunning pieces to bring a little bit of North African warmth into your wardrobe.

Made in London with love, care and sustainability

Blue Nude is known for its colour-forward collections and emphasis on craftsmanship. The brand is deeply rooted in its Made in London ethos while embracing a global perspective. Each season, Blue Nude collaborates with a different visual artist to explore the natural and cultural beauty of a specific region. Through Raha, the brand pays homage to Morocco, seamlessly integrating its traditions into a contemporary, wearable collection.
